Annual Promising Young Artists Contest & Exhibition

OUR 2020 EXHIBITION MOVED ONLINE!

For the past 12 years, the Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists has worked with the Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge, NJ in order to hold our annual Promising Young Artists exhibition and contest. However, due to the obvious obstacles caused by COVID-19, the YMCA is unable to host this annual event. Nonetheless, we are hoping that everyone is making the most out of this time by creating art and honoring wonderful women!

Each year, the Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists holds a contest and exhibition open accepting portrait or image submissions from artists in Pre-K-12th grade under the following theme:

“Who is a Woman in your life that inspires you?”

The Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists holds an annual contest and exhibition. All Young Artists in Pre-K – 12th grade that enter the contest have the opportunity to have their work displayed, along with Lucia’s, and are eligible to receive prizes for their work. This exhibition takes place at the Somerset Hills YMCA in Basking Ridge, NJ every May before Mother’s Day, in honor of Lucia Bocchino – artist and mother.

The inaugural Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists Exhibition took place in 2008. Since the first exhibition, the Fund has exhibited the work of over one thousand promising young artists. Over the years, the Fund has also awarded contest participants with a variety of awards intended to encourage young artists to follow their dreams and nurture their artistic talents.
